Ricardo Martinho

President IBM Portugal

BIO

Ricardo Martinho was born in Coimbra, in 1973.

He has a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Coimbra. He has completed the Master in Management and Marketing at the Alcalá de Henares University in Madrid and the “Leading Major Clients Partnership Executive Program” course at the management school, INSEAD.

In 1998, he began his professional activity as a consultant at Companhia IBM Portuguesa, S.A. Since then, Ricardo Martinho professional career includes several leadership positions, such as Director of Software and Director of Global Markets Division in Portugal.

He had several international experiences in France and Spain, holding different positions, from advisor to the President of Software in Europe, to leader of the Technological Services in Spain.

Recently, at the beginning of 2020, he returned to Portugal as the Director of the recently created Technology Unit, leading the Cloud and Artificial Intelligence solutions strategy and the systems and ecosystem areas. At that time, he also assumed a position on the Local Board of Administration.

In September 2021, has been appointed President of IBM Portugal and of the IBM Portugal Group, which also includes Softinsa, BTO and some Complementary Groups of Companies.

Currently, he integrates and actively participates in several national and international associations.
