Manuel Gil Antunes

José Manuel Gil Antunes, 57, holds a degree in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University in Lisbon. He has a strong background in commercial and tax law, as well as expertise in real estate and mergers and acquisitions, demonstrated through his work at Gil Antunes, Consultores Associados, Lda.

Starting his career in 1989 as a legal advisor at the IPG Group, Gil Antunes steadily progressed, serving as Executive Vice President of the Fibeira Group from 1999 to 2002, and later becoming Chairman of the Board of Directors at LusoCapital, SGPS, in 2003.

Today, Gil Antunes serves as CEO at HyChem, Sustainable Chemistry, SA, since March 31, 2021 where he leads the Company towards green hydrogen production, as well as CEO at Algora, HyChem’s holding Company.

Gil Antunes is also CEO of A4F Algae for Future, a biotechnological group, that also controls Algora. Under his leadership, these companies began operating in a circular economy model and developing decarbonization solutions.
