Degree in Environmental Engineering from NOVA School of Science and Technology, Advanced Studies in Public Policies (ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon) and Executive Program PDE (Leadership and management) at AESE Business School. Maria João currently works as Director-General at ELECPOR, the Portuguese Association of companies in the electricity sector and member of EURELECTRIC. Previously, Maria João worked as Head of Sustainability Knowledge at BCSD Portugal (Business Council for Sustainable Development), Coordinator for Climate Transition at Task force “Recuperar Portugal” (related to Recovery and Resilience Plan), Vice-President of ADENE – National Energy Agency and has served as governmental advisor in the areas of environment and energy.
