International Policy Expert for Energy Transition and Senior Advisor, Former Advisor of the Secretary of State for Environment and Energy.
With more than 15 years of experience in the Water and Energy sectors, Adriana Reais Pinto served as Advisor in the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Environment and Energy, at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action of Portugal, until January 2023, focused on engagement at institutional and geostrategic international cooperation for energy transition (Europe, Asia, USA).
From 2019 to 2021 was Advisor to the Deputy Minister and Secretary of State of Energy, mainly dedicated to the energy objectives of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Council, working in the National hydrogen strategy development and battery strategic value chain support. Also, was the national representative in the High-Level Dialogue Energy of United Nations, for "Finance and Investment". Prior to that, while Advisor of the Secretary of State for the Environment from 2017 to 2019, supported the Water sector developing new management solutions, working together to implement European funds applied to sustainability and water sector priorities. Adriana Reais Pinto is a senior engineer from Public Company Águas de Portugal and prior to her work in the Government worked as Investment controller, from 2005 to 2017, mainly supporting European Investment Bank operations around 3 billion euros. Additionally, she worked on development cooperation projects in Portugal and Mozambique focused on promoting access to services and infrastructure in the water and sanitation sectors at NGO - TESE. She holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering and a master’s in management from Nova School of Business & Economics University.
