BIO

His Excellency Lyonpo Loknath Sharma is the Minister for the Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources, the Royal Government of Bhutan. Elected as the Member of Parliament in the year 2019, His Excellency also serves as the Cabinet Minister. In addition, His Excellency is also the Chairperson of Punatsangchhu-I & Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project Authorities and the Chairperson of Bhutan Standards Bureau. Before joining politics, he served more than 16 years in the Road Safety and Transport Authority under the then Ministry of Information and Communication.

His Excellency holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delhi, India, a Master’s degree in Economics from Allahabad University, UP, India, a Diploma in Environment and Public Transport Management from Sweden and Advance Diploma in CIT, Bruce, ACT, Australia.
