Maria Tarp is the Ambassador of Denmark to Portugal. After earning a master’s degree in political science from Copenhagen University in 2006 she has mainly been developing her career in the field of diplomacy and public affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Among the positions she has possessed are Director Invest Denmark (2019), Deputy Director in the Department for Public Policy, Communication and Press (2014), First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Denmark to United Nations (2009) and First Secretary at the Danish Embassy Kabul (2007). In addition, Ambassador Tarp has experience as Policy Advisor on UNDP’s engagement in fragile states and Director in the International Department in the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities (2017)
