BIO
Robert McGuinness is the Principal Officer in Ireland’s Department of Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), directing the Offshore Wind Delivery Taskforce, which co-ordinates all Irish offshore wind activity of both industry and Government. Robert also directs Ireland’s offshore wind tendering programme, the first auction of which, ORESS 1, took place last year, and awarded contracts for over 3GW of capacity. Robert leads teams within his Department on Seafood sector engagement, marine data/survey and long-term offshore renewables energy policy, as well as representing Ireland at the North Seas Energy Co-operation.
